The 64th Annual and my 25th Rally in a Row was not a disappointment. Full Throttle and Thunder Road were the highlights this year.

Too bad about the entertainment downtown, hope everyone got their money back. The City of Sturgis needs to police this type of activity a little closer, or at least the organizers of the Rally should watch for this type event.

Sorry for the 9 lost souls, drinking and driving never mix, inexperienced riders need to slow down, don't let your peers push you beyond your capabilities. STAY OFF THE CENTER LINE.

Hope the 9 or 10 people who boycotted the Rally enjoyed their time at home. If you want to complain about what happened with the Mr Janklow, complain about the justice system and the politicians NOT the people of Sturgis and the Black Hills. See you all next year, Ride Safe

Well my husband I have been going to Sturgis for the past 5 years .And we have fun well we are there. For the last 3 years we have found work to do up there.. It helps the money situation a bit.We stay at the Buffalo Chip camp grounds. We have met some really cool people there and we meet up with the ones we already met from years before. We try to get some peoplw to go with us every year. But like always we end up going up by ourselves. But we look at it , it is their lose. They miss the big party.. They havn't seen a party till they go to Sturgis. We are going to be there once agaain and counting the days. It seems like it doesn't get here soon enough sometimes. Hey there, Don't think that all people from east river have a narrow mind. Most of us feel the same way you do. I would have liked to see Gov Janklow fry just as much as most of you. AN.... BTW.... Boycoting Sioux Falls has nothing to do with the judge that sentenced him, as Sioux Falls is in Minnehaha County and his trial was held on Moody County. So Boycoting Sioux Falls would only hurt the people of Sioux Falls that like to see the Bikes ride thru and help out there econcomy as well as the State of South Dakota. Hey everyone, I am upset about the Janklow crap also, but don't feel that a boycott of Sturgis for that reason is right (maybe for gouging bikers and high prices though!) I suggest we go to Sturgis and write BIKER on all your money in black marker, in large print. This way, everyone will see the millions of dollars that we generate to the local economy. I like the boycott of Sioux falls too

Rode out from Maine last year for the first time. What a blast. Great times Great people. The only problem I had was turning the Heritage around. It didn't happen until I hit Mexico. 10378 miles out the driveway and back in. Can't wait until the next time.

"BOYCOTT" Sioux Falls!!! Lots of people have to stop in Sioux falls for gas or to stay the night. That is where janklow and judge and the people on the jury are so dont stop!!! Makes more sense then not going to Sturgis. "Boycott Sioux Falls!!!!!" This will be the 14th year for us so I am not going to miss it because of janklow. Lets ride for Randy Scott. I live in the Black Hills, and also am a biker by choice. Myself and my fellow riders are equally upset at the sentence Janklow got, but there is nothing we can do about it. Much of this is due to the east/west mentality, which divides east and west river south dakota. Janklow is from east river. The judge was east river. The eastern half of south dakota has nothing to lose in this matter, except more of their credibility. The only ones that loose are the west river folks (sturgis and the black hills) and the bikers that choose not to come back. If you are that narrow minded, we won't miss you at this year's rally, but I don't think it is fair to punish the western half for something totally out of our control. If janklow was tried in Sturgis or elsewhere in the black hills, I think the result would have been much different. I know for one, I wouldn't mind seeing him fry for his crime. But, we can't overcome the mentality that runs the court system where he was tried and slapped on the wrist. Remember, this same east river contingent elected Tom Daschle to the senate!

I for one will not be coming to Sturgis this year. I can not justify spending money in a state that abides a sentence of 100 days for the life of a biker. I will be spreading my discontent on all biker website and magazines I can find on the internet. Maybe if you people are hit in the wallet hard enough ya'll will see that a bikes life is worth more than a $5000 fins and 100 days in jail. If things were reversed the Mr. Scott would have gotten a minimum of 5yrs.

Bad news, folks. I REALLY love your state. But, as much as I'd love to hit up Sturgis this year, I can't. Why? Because your former congressman Bill Janklow just got sentenced to 100 days in jail, and also must pay $5000 worth of 'housing costs' back to the prison system, for "second-degree manslaughter, speeding and running a stop sign". Essentially South Dakota has set the price of a biker's life at five large, plus a little over three months in the pokey. That's insulting. So, to make my (and hopefully others) displeasure known, I'm urging a boycott of the Sturgis Rally, because the SD state government is taking bikers for granted and has no respect at all for the revenue we bring or the good we do.

just wanted to share my experience as a "sturgis virgin". i went for the first time this past summer 2003. i had planned on going with my boyfriend, but one week before leaving he decided that he didnt want me to go. so i left in my truck by myself!! 3 days before he did. i cant even begin to tell you how much fun i had!! i mean it was like a spring break for adults!! i cant imagine not ever going back, it changed me so much. i know now, that i dont need to count on anybody, for anything. if you've never been, just do it!! even by yourself you can have so much damn fun!! its one big family party and you have to do it at least once in your life time. ilsa, san antonio texas

My husband and I were there in 2002, and I was very disappointed in the so called "brotherhood". My husband and I ride every year to Sturgis because half the fun is getting there. Well that year we had some mechanical problems and were stranded 5 miles outside Sturgis. If nobody out there has ever pushed a Road King and trailer, thank God for you. But do you know how many people passed us with their empty trailers, EMPTY, laughing?! Not one person with a trailer stopped and offered us any help. Finally when we got close enough to see the Texaco station, someone stopped and offered us a tow in. And you all talk about "the Brotherhood". None of you know anything about a brotherhood!!! Everyone talks down to the Hell's Angels, but at least if one them is stranded, every one of them stays, wrenching on the bike until it is ready, then they all leave as a group. Sturgis 2002 was a wake up for my husband and me. We will never go to Sturgis without a trailer ever again, because all that year proved to us is, that you cannot count on any other biker but yourself to get home!!! Bunch of ASSHOLES!!!!!

This was my first year @ Sturgis. I was ill prepared for the event, I traveled w/my 2 brothers, 1 from Kansas 1 from New Zealand. It was completly incredible. I think I was most impressed by the people. Most looked really intimidating to this little Kansas girl. But everyone was kind and friendly, and even though it was hot everyone was in good spirits. The Buffalo Chip campground was recommended to me and I enjoyed the crowd, alot. Thanks to all, God Bless LMH~

Had A Blast... I drove straight thru to Sturgis 2003. It took us 24 1/2 hours. My 3 girlfriends and I, we were the Hustler Honeys, that worked at the Broken Spoke Saloon, in the cage outside, and danced for The ZZ top Tribute Band ~ El Loco... Nice website with great information and beautiful pictures. Have been to Sturgis and the Black Hills area, and would some day like to ride in South Dakota and surrounding areas during the Sturgis rally. Might have to take a few days off and head out just to see all the excitment this year. I would have to say the Sturgis area would be a nice place to ride. This year will be the second time I've gone to Sturgis. Last year was the first and what a great week it was. I didn't know what to expect and was thinking I might not be able to party like I used to. I was blown away by the fact that there was more to Sturgis then just the "party". No one told me about the scenery and the great roads and all the riding we'd be doing. I think we averaged maybe a couple hundred miles a day and saw some of the most spectacular sites I've ever seen (Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, the Black Hills). I look forwar to this years ride and hopefully future years.

I rode out to Sturgis in 2001 with 3 friends from Bloomington IN and it was a great experience. We even ran into Willie G. Davidson at the Harley Davidson shop in Rapid City and got our picture taken with him. That was the highlight of the trip for me along with the beautiful landscape they have out there. I plan on riding out again this year with another friend and hope everything is a cool as it was the first time. Ride safe everyone and have a great time!

I was at Sturgis in 2002 for the first time. The weather sucked, but the riding was beautiful. Great Country riding and a lot of great sites. I was not happy with the Bufflochip camp ground and prices, so I will stay some where else in 2003. I saw a lot more good looking women at the Dawgs on Hawgs Rally in Sommerville Texas, that means that South Dakato needs to change their law on showing breast. Even the ROT rally in Austin Texas had more breast. The ride was really great though, the people are friendly except for the cops. We have a lot of bad cops in Texas also. Good advice from easy & mel about helping a fellow biker when broke down. It damn sure could be you. Was sitting on the side of the hiway by myself in the middle of Nevada broke down last year on the way to Sturgis, and couldn't believe the number of people that just rode by me without even turning their heads. I had people up the road, but those folks riding past me didn't know that. I stopped for guys twice on that trip, just to check. Chances are everything is fine, but you just never know. And going onto your site in the winter, looking at pics and checking the "countdown", seems to help a little to get thru our damn winters, until we can finally get our bikes out of the garage and back on the road. It was my first year out in sturgis. I worked at the fresh roasted cashew stand. We sold a variety of nuts. It was a good time. Met alot of interesting people from all over the U.S. It was neat to see people from my hometown and people that rode 1850 miles to come to sturgis. The variety of people was interesting in itself. Thanks to all of you who stopped by and talked and those who purchased nuts from us. I hope you all made it home safe. Take care.

2002 was my first time out to Sturgis and I had a blast. We stayed in Rapid City and rode bikes ALL OVER, Sturgis, Spearfish, Mount Rushmore, Deadwood, Keystone, Hulett, Wyoming and much more. Had a great time again at Sturgis. Met up with a bunch of friends that made it out for the first time. Loved watching their expressions when looking at all the beautiful sights..Looking forward to another time - another memory! Wondering if the couple from Michigan that crashed rounding a curve heading into Custard are OK... he barrowed the nice blue Titan from a friend - hope he was a cool bro :)

This was my first time out to SD. A great time!! I'm definitely going to make '03!! I think I'll have to bring the little lady next time, though... A great ride from CT. Took the long way home through Colorado and New Mexico before turning east... You won't catch me with my bike on a trailer!!!!!! Riding is the ONLY way to go. See ya next year!!!!

Had a great time again in Sturgis didn't camp at Glencoe this time and missed the burgers. Stayed in Spearfish what a great town. Loved the weather not so hot. Did alot of riding in the hills. 1980 miles in four days, what fun. Rode straight out on Wednesday and straight home on Saturday. My younger brother from Colorado rode up to meet me. We camped with some friends in the Piedmont area at Tilford Gulch. Had a fun time this was my sixth trip out- probably be back next year again. Got some more friends that want to go that have never been it before, but want to now after seeing all my pics.

After all these years, , , our group finally made it to the Sturgis Rally. It was an awsome sight, , , the weather was great except for the rain storm Thursday afternoon that shut down Deadwood where we were staying, , , but all in all it was an experience I whouldn't have traded for the world. Glad the guestbook is back up & running, thanx Randee! Sturgis was awesome, so much to see and do, so little time. Up from California, and loved every second. We'll be back, count on it! More than anything I was diggin' on license plates from around the USA (and beyond), and the mapboard at the Broken Spoke Saloon, it shows just how bad people want to be there. Just want to thank "Blue" at Blue Wolf M/C in Salt Lake for puttin' his projects on hold for a couple of hours and gettin' me in there to diagnose and fix an electronic ignition problem, and gettin' me back on the road and in the wind to Sturgis, Thanx again Blue, and to everybody up in Sturgis for puttin' on a great gig.
