Digital Images: If you are submitting digital images (already scanned photos or digital camera images), please make sure they match these criteria: Images need to be no more than 600 pixels wide at a resolution of 72 pixels/inch. (higher resolutions will NOT improve screen image quality) Images should be in .gif, .jpg or .jpeg format. If your images do not match these criteria, they can probably be used after manipulation, however you will need to include a retouching fee for each image of $5.00. (Please calculate this as a scanning fee in the Mall Fees Form.)

Photographs: High-resolution scans require quality photographs. Photos to be scanned need to be as clear as possible. Generally speaking, the larger the original photo, the higher the scan quality will be (pictures sent to us must be no larger than 11" x 8"). Larger photos normally produce excellent results and smaller photos will usually produce good results if the photo quality is good.

Things to keep in mind when taking product pictures: Slow and poor quality pictures make for LESS sales. Many potential customers will not wait for a slow pictures to load. Therefore, when taking product pictures, try to have a white background, keep other "things" out of the picture (like cords, background clutter, etc.) and provide good lighting to show off and details of your product.
Most of the itmes in the Sturgis-Rally Virtual Mall are represented by a thumbnail image. The viewer is given the chance to click and see the full size picture. Make sure your product will show enough detail to be visually attractive in the smaller picture.
