I think every US region claims the standard saying
"If you don't like the weather now, wait a minute, it'll change!"
This is also true of South Dakota. During every rally, you can expect to get at least one thunderstorm, and the wind will blow 100 miles per hour (or at least it seems like 100 mph) for at least a few minutes. Hail is not an uncommon occurance either. Typically we will have hot August days, and cool nights. If you are staying up in the Hills, you will want warm clothing and sleeping bags for the evenings.
